Recruiting a Security Guard locallyThere is a lot to be said for a local knowledge and the benefits it can bring to a company, this is especially true in the security business. The reasons for this are varied but as a general rule of thumb someone who has lived in the locality for an extended period of time will settle better and generally interact with staff and clients alike more effectively. For example, if a business in Huddersfield wanted to install a state of the art alarm system would they rather get it locally or from a firm based 300 miles away? For most people there would be only one answer. In the case of technological installations a local firm is a lot easier to contact in the event of any difficulties or malfunctions with the system. Similarly a locally recruited security guard will be a lot easier to deal with than someone from outside the region. More often than not locally recruited workers will know 'the lie of the land' and be familiar with the area, this is an extremely important asset, particularly for security personnel. In the case of the smaller towns and cities it is likely that the local worker will be known in the area and perhaps already have built up a working relationship with the local Police and emergency services in similar roles before, they may also be aware of who the local crooks and thieves are! From CCTV to intruder alarms to the people on the front line, locally sourced products and labour can help a business run smoothly. Familiarity does not always breed contempt! |
